The Gambler
I do remember profiting one time from dumpster merch. We got a whole bunch of Louise Mandrell and Kenny Rogers cassettes that were drilled. The drilled bar code was a tiny little pin hole which was supposed to mean it was not for retail sale. At this time Target didn't know these were promos, and so we could exchange them for 10.98 ea.
'yeah my grandma got me this tape for my birthday, and I like new wave. Can I like exchange it or something?
T weren't you in on this caper?

I believe it is possible that I might have participated in that, but I'm sure I was very uneasy about it. Once I did sell a bunch of dumpster posters to a record store in Denton. I think I made about $75 off BMG garbage. Then I probably used the money to pay long distance bills for phone calls to one Mr. Robert M. in Austin who counselled me during bad college roommate trauma and general Denton-related angst.
I seem to recall you being the driver, I was the bag man, and Whitney was the face.
I am no longer a fan of petty theft.
And I thought Bryce was part of that scene.
Bryce may have been the face..in his leather jacket returning Kenny Rogers..LOL
I miss leather jacket Bryce. He has been replaced by quilted winter coat with a fur-rimmed hood Bryce. But he's still Bryce.
